STUDIO DANCE ARTS : LEADING THE WAY IN DANCE EDUCATION
Newsletter. Nov.2011
Did you know that SDA was the first studio in the District to introduce the Halftime/Partime Competitive format?
WELCOME SDA
SDA has been very busy these past several months. We had a summer full of recreational and competitive programs, an amazing trip to New York City, opening a Hapkido Championship, starting our new fall programs, choreographing for our new season, hosting workshops, and more! Here is our first newsletter for the 2011/2012 dance season, where you will read all about what's been going on at SDA.
Summer in NYC
July 2011 is one that won't soon be forgotten. We shared an incredible experience as we attended the First Annual Dance Awards and shared once-in-a-lifetime moments that included Broadway. Read more about it. Click here>>>
Thanks Felisha Lindsay for this great photo!
Recreation Summer Camps
This summer we hosted recreational summer camps in Sault Ste. Marie and Elliot Lake. Our camp director Pam Robins led more than 35 youngsters aged 5-11 through recreational dance steps, games, theme parties and more! But pictures say a thousand words. Take a look at our gallery of images from these camps..
Summer Competitive Workshops
In August, SDA hosted two amazing workshops in Elliot Lake and Sault Ste. Marie. We saw some incredible dancing by our students and they got to show off their talents for some very inspirational guest choreographers. Learn more about these classes and check out some videos about the program and see two of our students featured on the news.
Guest Faculty at SDA
Since starting out our new season in September, we have had an exciting line-up of guest choreographers and workshops. Guests have included Shanna Cipressi, Missy Ridgway and Barbara Chonin. Coming up this month we will host Jason Luks and Liz Imperio. Our students get a unique opportunity to shine for these leaders in the industry.
