The SDA Company - Home Of National Champions!

Studio Dance Arts offers a nationally award winning competitive dance program for students starting at the age of 6yrs.

This program is geared towards the student wanting a more serious approach to dance education. Mandatory technique and choreography classes are involved, as well as traveling to different cities to compete at the regional and national levels.

Teamwork and camaraderie are learned, while the SDA Company travels throughout North America impressing judges and audiences alike and proudly putting northern Ontario on the map at major dance events!

Our competitive program has received countless titles, choreography, entertainment and overall high score awards, as well as having produced students who have been accepted into such prestigious institutions as The National Ballet Of Canada, The Royal Winnipeg Ballet, The Quinte Ballet, Interlochen Arts Academy, Blue Lake Academy and the San Fransisco Conservatory of the Arts, to name a few.

SDA has various levels of competitive study to accomdate various levels of commitment.

HalfTime Company

SDA's award winning Recreational/Competitive Dance Team! 

This is the perfect way for students to experience the excitement of dance competition at an introductory commitment level.

THE SDA HALFTIME Company requires approximately 2-4 hours per week of training.

Required technique classes are; ballet and jazz

HALFTIME Company dancers compete at TWO regional events per season (one local and one out of town).

• MINI Halftime Company (6-8yrs)
• JUNIOR Halftime Company (9-11yrs)
• TEEN Halftime Company (12yrs+)

HALFTIME Company dancers showing potential also have the opportunity to transition into our FULLTIME Program.

FullTime Company

SDA's award winning FULLTIME Company is by assessment. 

This program is a more serious study of dance with more hours of training per week.

Required technique classes are; ballet/pointe, jazz/lyrical and stretch-turns-jumps

Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) ballet exams are also a required part of the program.

FULLTIME Company dancers compete at THREE regional events per season (one local and two our of town).

National Finals are also included in some years.

Intensive Company

SDA's INTENSIVE Company is by invitation.

This program is for the extremely serious dance student who wishes to commit and dedicate themselves to training at a pre-professional level.

INTENSIVE Company members are required to travel to conventions and competitions, as well as field trips to major dance centres such as Toronto, New York City and Los Angeles.
